Going deeper than politics or advocacy, the Engaging Israel course reframes the discussion about the enduring significance of the State of Israel for contemporary Jews worldwide. The iEngage curriculum elevates the conversation about Israel by rooting it in Jewish values and ideas rather than in a response to crisis. 05.22.13 Community of Elders - Wednesday at the Temple Lunch & Bridge Bridge from 1-3:00. PLEASE NOTE: Yoga (for all ages) from 1:30-3:00 will take place only on the first and second Wednesdays of each month until further notice. 

05.23.13 LBT Business Alliance A group dedicated to the success of each member by strengthening our temple community through the sharing of knowledge. This month they're meeting on the fourth Thursday - at Factor's Deli, located at 9420 W. Pico Blvd.

Community of Elders Wednesdays at the Temple Full Day

9:30am

On the second Wednesday of the month - LBT’s Community of Elders offers classes and interactive presentations in the morning, followed by a bag lunch, and choice of Bridge or Yoga with Norm Gee.
February is Black History Month
Arrive at 9:30am for coffee, tea, fruit - followed by:
10:00 - 11:15   FILM - An engaging Civil Rights documentary film - starting promptly at 10:00. Film to be followed by remarks and discussion with Reverend James Lawson, who Martin Luther King, Jr. called ... "The architect and philosopher of the non-violent [Civil Rights] movement in America."

11:30 - 12:30   The Education Crisis in Los Angeles:  with Jackie Goldberg, former California State Assembly member and former LA Unified School District Board of Education member, and Kyndall Brown, PhD.  Dr. Brown has “over 25 years of experience in the field of mathematics education. His research interests include how the mathematics identities of African-American males impact their academic achievement."  Join us!  

12:45   Bag lunch - followed by choice of either:
1:00 - 3:00 Bridge in the Community Lounge - OR
1:30 - 3:00 Yoga with Norm Gee (for ALL ages)
