08.10.10 Make Your Own Teshuvah Journal In this workshop, with Rabbi Rachel Timoner, we will prepare for the month of Elul by creating journals for the process of cheshbon hanefesh (accounting of our souls). We will study texts on teshuva, and begin to use our journals to help guide us as we consider how we are living, the state of our relationships, and our sense of purpose in anticipation of the High Holydays.
All games are played on Sundays at 9:00am, 11:00am or 1:00pm beginning in January and ending in mid-June. Both teams conduct casual practices on Sundays beginning the end of November. The seven-inning games are competitive (but not cut-throat). Sliding is allowed (and required on close plays at home and in certain double-play situations). Bunting and stealing are not allowed. The minimum age is 20; no maximum age limit exists.
Our own Rabbi Chasen is a member of both teams (thanks to a special league dispensation) and has continued to support both teams with both his fielding and batting. Many of the players have enjoyed playing on the teams since LBT joined the league in 2001. Family members often join players at the games, so the general atmosphere is fun and friendly.
If you are interested in playing or learning more about the league, please call managers Marc Glucksman (310.278.1077) or Tom Wagener (310.826.9875) for additional details.
