In Judaism, tzedakah is not merely an act of giving; it is a commitment of faith. Although many people believe that the Hebrew word tzedakah means charity, the word’s roots convey much more – a combination of righteousness, fairness, and justice. Today, each gift to Leo Baeck Temple reflects that tradition. Contributions provide inspiring worship services led by our outstanding clergy, stimulating educational opportunities for children and adults, Jewish cultural programming, connection and caring for our congregational community, fulfillment of our strong commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world) and K’Lal Israel (the Jewish community worldwide), membership to all who wish to join regardless of ability to pay full dues/fees, and maintenance of our buildings and grounds.
