Community

The LBT ECC is a close-knit, warm, and welcoming community. Just as we encourage friendships among the children, we are sustained by the strong relationships among our parent community. Parents and students alike form important friendships and come to rely on each other throughout their years with us – celebrating the holidays together and being there for one another in times of need.

Leo Baeck Temple has had a long-standing relationship in the Los Angeles community, and the ECC shares that rich history. We benefit from our deep connection to the Temple, to our clergy, and to all of the programs that being a part of it entails. The greater LBT community is an extension of our ECC one – strengthening us and enriching our Jewish experiences.

We offer programs throughout the year that welcome our ECC community, as well as those with young children throughout the Los Angeles community.

Community Programs include:

  • Breakfast with Bri
    Tuesdays at 9:30am via Zoom
Join Bri for 30 minutes of songs, stories, and fun! PJs and pancakes are optional. Geared to our youngest learners – ages six and under – and their families. For information on how to join, please contact Betsy Krut.
  • Young Children’s Shabbat – with Bri and Cantor Kates
    Fridays at 9:30am via Zoom
It is a special treat to start the day joyfully singing and praying along side friends and loved ones. We will enjoy our usual Shabbat melodies and reconnect with one another. I’ve got that Shabbat feeling, do you? For information on how to join, please contact Betsy Krut.
  • Tot Shabbat
    Monthly via Zoom

Celebrate Shabbat with your little ones on Saturday mornings at Leo Baeck Temple.  Monthly Tot Shabbat services are led by our Director of Lifelong Learning Rabbi Lisa Berney.  Each service will feature music, a story, puppets and interactive singing that will get your whole family up and moving around.  Children will sing, clap, and dance with their parents as a great way to start the weekend.  For information on how to join, please contact Betsy Krut.
