The Leonard I. Beerman Early Childhood Center at Leo Baeck Temple provides a developmental approach to learning. We believe children learn through experience, interactions with their environment, other people and the world around them – fostering lifelong learning. We value process over product and through our child-centered curriculum we meet each child’s individual needs. Our approach focuses on teaching respect, self-confidence, positive self-esteem, and a love of learning. We help children problem solve and use conflict resolution on a daily basis.
Some of the highlights of our well-rounded program include Judaic studies, language arts, music, science, math, and pre-reading in a program that is both play-based and center-based – ensuring social/emotional growth and kindergarten readiness. Our goal is to develop the whole child as well as guide parents through the preschool years. Parent participation and parent education are an integral part of our program. The Early Childhood Center is a hidden oasis that is the starting point for both a Jewish and secular education.
