Topic: The Jewish Community, LBT, and Mental Health – with Rabbi William (Bill) Cutter
Rabbi Cutter, a long-time member of LBT, just concluded 53 years of teaching at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles. In addition to teaching, he was the founder of many of HUC’s very successful programs. His presentation to the COE will mark the beginning of a new project into the search for mental health among Reform religious leaders in America. What, after all, is the relationship of a solid Jewish community and its mental health? Rabbi Cutter has been involved in LBT’s initiative on mental health, begun almost two years ago. He will be discussing the surprising results of the research he has undertaken that examines what has been going on in this regard at LBT and in synagogues throughout the country.
