Our Ways to Contribute/ Tzedakah

Charitable gifts have built and sustained LBT throughout our history.  Support from congregants continues to provide the means by which we unify our community. There are many ways to support Leo Baeck Temple; the following is a list of ongoing charitable giving opportunities:

Lech L'cha Capital Campaign

The Lech L’cha Capital Campaign creates the kinds of living, learning and worship spaces that will foster real Jewish community for ourselves, our children, and our children’s children. More  

Sustaining Tzedek

The Talmud teaches “Kol yisrael arevim zeh b’zeh” – “all Jews are responsible for one another.”  In keeping with that value, LBT established the Sustaining Tzedek Program. More  

Annual Giving / Sponsors Circle

At LBT our Annual Giving Campaign is designed to bridge the gap between membership dues and the cost of running the temple. More  

Heroes and Angels Dinner

Established in 2006, this annual fundraising gala honors outstanding temple leaders dedicated to building community at Leo Baeck Temple.

On Saturday, May 14, 2011, we were thrilled to "Toast, Taste and Celebrate" Leo Baeck Temple and our most recent honorees:

Jeff Mirkin (Our Hero / Giborim) - "Moving forward with boldness"

Jeff led our congregation as president for three years with confidence and dedication, deftly guiding us into our newly remodeled building and providing expert leadership through our two successful clergy searches.  Since joing LBT in 1988, Jeff has served our congregation as chair of our Annual Fund, chair of our Sponsor Circle, and co-chair of our Capital Campaign, bringin clear vision, joyful humor, a deep love for LBT, and always a smile.

Lewis Wilkenfeld (Our Angel / Malachim) - "Bringing families together"

Lewis has generously given countless hours to help make LBT the thriving, engaging community that it is.  He has directed temple shows, helped form the Youth Education Committee, and recruited hundreds of volunteers, many of whom he has inspired to become congregational leaders.  You might know him as our longtime Room Parent Coordinator in the Religious School or a Board of Trustees member... but most of us know and love him as "The Purim Guy!"
