This year's honorees:

Robin Bernstein, Our Hero

Robin has been a deeply devoted member of the LBT community throughout her entire life - her photograph can be found on both our Confirmation Wall and our Presidents Wall. As our congregation’s president during Rabbi Chasen’s first two years of service, Robin created the bridge between our temple’s glorious past and its inspiring future. She has also served enthusiastically as co-chair of our 50th anniversary celebration and our recent Cantorial Search Committee. With her uncommon warmth, compassion, humility and wisdom,Robin models the virtues that we all work to sustain at LBT.

Mark Green, Our Angel

Whether teaching on Yom Limmud (our community-wide day of learning) or deliberating over the temple’s most important decisions in the board room, Mark brings a unique combination of intellectual rigor, gentle integrity and artistic grace that elevates our entire congregation in so many ways. A gifted liturgist whose original writings are often heard in LBT worship, Mark served as our temple’s first-ever Vice President of Religious Affairs, providing our clergy with the necessary counsel, partnership and support to lead our community confidently into a new era of spiritual growth.

Leonard I. Beerman Early Childhood Center

This year, we are thrilled to pay special tribute to our temple’s Leonard I. Beerman Early Childhood Center (ECC) on the occasion of its twenty-fifth anniversary. The ECC has become the gateway into our congregational community for countless LBT families. Today, our congregation is immeasurably strengthened by the families who first fell in love with each other and with our temple during their preschool years. Many of our ECC students and parents have continued on to participate in essential roles of leadership in our Religious School, youth group, committees, and Board of Trustees. We honor the ECC for its deep and beautiful impact on so many young lives and in the life and vitality of our congregation.
