Hebrew

We believe that Hebrew study connects us to Klal Yisrael, the Jewish people.  Beginning in third grade, our students participate in our Hebrew program where they are introduced to the Hebrew alphabet, its vocabulary, basic grammar, prayers and blessings, and learn to read and write.    

For those who wish to become Bar/Bat Mitzvah, completion and proficiency of the fourth level of Hebrew is required, as well as three years of enrollment in our Hebrew program. The Hebrew studies program includes Alef, Bet, Gimmel and Dalet classes. Each week, after preparing with our Rabbis and Cantor, students lead and participate in a t’filah service, to which parents are invited. Toward the end of each year, our Education Director conducts Hebrew reading evaluations with all students.

Hebrew classes are held Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-6:15pm, with review lessons during Sunday Religious School.
