If you haven’t experienced our Friday Night Liftoff (FNLO) service, here are four more reasons to come to LBT – on the first Friday of each month at 6:15! Our service features a group of LA’s finest professional musicians; the FNLO Band consists of . . .
M.B. Gordy, drums/percussion; M.B. has been working as a freelance musician and producer in LA for many years. He has an extensive list of film, TV, theatre, and pop/rock credits, including percussionist / drummer for the Doobie Brothers in the 2000s. When he’s not producing or drumming, M.B. enjoys movies with his family, hiking, and doing yoga.
Yoni Arbel, sax, guitar, flute, bass; Yoni is a musician of many talents – playing saxophone, flute, bass, and rhythm guitar. When he is not playing music, Yoni enjoys basketball, reading, and hiking. He is the Musical Director of Bazaar Ensemble.
Josh Goldberg, piano/vocals; Josh loves hiking, attempting to cook, cowboy boots (he’s from Texas) and road trips. He has performed with Grammy winning artists Macy Gray, Melissa Manchester, and Lamont Dozier and noted Jewish musicians Craig Taubman, Rick Recht, and Noam Katz.
Dan Radlauer, bass, piano, accordian, mandolin; Dan has spent his whole adult life composing music for TV, film, radio, commercials, award shows, and theme parks. And, along the way, he has learned to play a number of instruments! In his spare time, Dan loves playing with other musicians, enjoys teaching music, and mentoring young musicians. He has been a regular Jazz instructor at the Idyllwild Arts Academy Summer Program for about 20 years. When he’s not writing or playing music, Dan loves to be with his family.
And, of course, the FNLO Band is led by our own Rabbi Ken Chasen on guitar, piano, bass, and vocals; and Cantor Linda Kates, guitar and vocals.
