A Video Guide to Your Passover Seder

Welcome Torah Blessings Urchatz, Karpas, Yachatz
Join Rabbi Chasen as he shares an opening inspiration to guide your seder experience. Open your seder with Cantor Kates, who will lead us through our festival candlelighting, family blessings, Miriam’s Cup, and the fesitval Kiddush (pages 8-18 in The Open Door Haggadah). Join Rabbi Ross for the Passover rituals of Urchatz, Karpas, and Yachatz — Hand Washing, Dipping the Greens, and Dividing Middle Matzah (pages 23-26 in The Open Door Haggadah).

The Bread of Affliction, Four Questions, We Were Slaves, Rabbis of B’nei B’rak

The Four Children

My Father Was a Wandering Aramean, Including the Story of Shifra and Puah

Rabbi Berney opens our telling of the Passover story, including a chanting of the Four Questions (pages 27-34 in The Open Door Haggadah). Join LBT’s Director of Early Childhood Education Brianne Naiman to ponder the wisdom and meaning of The Four Children (pages 38-42 in The Open Door Haggadah). Rabbi Berney guides us through the Passover story, featuring the heroic role of women in our people’s liberation… from the Exodus all the way to today (pages 46-51 in The Open Door Haggadah).

Ten Plagues

Dayenu

Pesach, Matza and Maror, In Every Generation, and Psalms of Praise (Hallel)

Join LBT’s Rabbinic Intern, Liora Alban, for her thoughts about revisiting the Haggadah’s Ten Plagues as we battle a plague in our own time (page 53 in The Open Door Haggadah). Any one of the many miracles we celebrate in our seder would have been enough, which is why we sing Dayenu… with Cantor Kates (page 58 in The Open Door Haggadah). Join Rabbi Ross in examining the symbols of the seder plate (the Passover shankbone, matzah and bitter herb), and learn about our seder custom of seeing ourselves as the ones moving from slavery to freedom, so we can rejoice in the psalms of Hallel (pages 63-70 in The Open Door Haggadah)!

2nd Cup and Blessings Before the Meal

Blessing After Meal (Birkat Hamazon)

3rd Cup and Elijah’s Cup

Rabbi Chasen leads us in the blessings over:
– The Second Cup of Wine
– The Washing of Hands
– Matza
– Maror (Bitter Herb)

And describes the symbols of the Hillel Sandwich, the Roasted Egg, and the Orange on the Seder Plate (pages 72-77 in The Open Door Haggadah).

Join Cantor Kates in chanting Birkat Hamazon, the Blessing after the Meal (pages 79-82 of the Open Door Haggadah).

Join Rabbi Ross for the 3rd cup of wine known as Kos Shlishi, and the cup of Elijah, known as Kos Eliyahu (pages 84-88 in The Open Door Haggadah).

Psalms of Praise (Hallel) and 4th Cup

“Pharaoh, Pharaoh” – A Passover Song by Mah Tovu (Rabbis Ken Chasen and Yoshi Zweiback)

Counting of the Omer and Conclusion:  Next Year in Jerusalem!

Join Cantor Kates with (at last!) the 4th cup of wine (page 102 of The Open Door Haggadah). Rabbi Chasen concludes our seder by teaching about the counting of the Omer, sharing a beautiful poem, and offering prayers for us all (pages 103-112 in The Open Door Haggadah).
