COVID-19 Response

As you may already be aware, the steady increase in coronavirus cases has led local authorities and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to urge everyone to practice “social distancing” by avoiding non-essential travel, public events, community gatherings and indoor venues. Though we have made the decision to close our campus at this time, you may contact our staff by email or voicemail while we are our of the office. Staff will be checking our voicemail during regular business hours.

Caring within Our Community

The psalmist writes, “the world is built on lovingkindness.” This is true for ourselves and others — and as we face a pandemic that unites each one of us with all of humankind across the world, our LBT community will be there to help you build a world of lovingkindness: for yourself, for your family, for your friends, and for those who are counting on us more than ever, even though we do not even know them.

If we can support you, or if you’d like to be matched with someone in our community to speak by phone, please email Rabbi Ross at

If you would like to volunteer to provide tangible assistance (e.g., grocery dropoffs, delivery of medicines, etc.) to fellow Leo Baeckers — or would benefit from this kind of assistance — please email us at

Programming Updates

Throughout this time, we have delivered groceries, played mahjong (virtually), created new gatherings online, and continued to learn, pray, and connect. We continue to expand our offerings of activities that connect us to one another through LBT Home to Home.
